Gujarat Minister of State for Finance Saurabhbhai Patel, who is leading a delegation,told reporters he was here to extend an invitation to people of the state in general and Gujaratis residing in Karnataka in particular to take part in the three-day golden jubilee celebrations of Gujarat being held from April 29.
The Government also extended invitation to industrialists and entrepreneurs to participate in the two-day 5th Global Investors' Meet being held in Gujarat from Jan 12 next,he said
Saurabhbhai Patel said the delegation had already visited
Mangalore and would proceed to Mysore from here to ask the
resident Gujaratis to bring soil and water from a holy river
there to Gandhinagar which would be used to construct the
Mahatma Mandir there.
He said the Gujarat government, which was providing
24-hour power supply not only to cities and industries but
also 18,000 villages in the state, would double its power
production to 20,000 mw by 2012.
"We are looking at two lakh household connections every
year and 150 CNG stations in the next 12 months", he said.
Karnataka is holding its GIM on June two and three in
Bangalore: Gujarat on Monday launched its publicity campaign in Karnataka today to lure investors for its fifth Global Investors Meet slated for January 12 next even as the
BJP ruled state in this southern part was engaged in a similar exercise.
