Bankura: Police and CRPF on Tuesday conducted a house-to-house search at villages in the Barikul police station area where Maoists had attacked two camps of the joint security forces yesterday.

Maoists had attacked the camps last night and looted arms besides injuring five personnel. IRB jawan Ajoy Pande, who was missing since then, was suspected to be abducted by the ultras, police sources said.

Superintendent of police Vishal Garg, however, refused to comment on the loot of arms.

Five personnel were injured in the Maoist attack on the camps of the security forces, deployed to conduct anti-Maoist operation, at Chendapathar and Satnala under Barikul police station at around 10 pm.

The 24 personnel in the two camps retaliated the Maoist firing which continued for around one hour, they said.

While one policeman, Swapan Roy Sarkar, was rushed to a local health centre, four others were admitted to Bankura Medical College and Hospital.
