Ranchi: An IAS officer here was on Tuesday suspended in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case, a fortnight after the CBI raided his residences.

Personnel and Administrative Reforms Secretary, Vinay Prakash Verma, issued the notification in this regard, a Raj Bhavan release said here.

Avinash Kumar had been posted as the Officer-on-Special duty to the former Jharkhand governor Syed Sibtey Razi, who is now the Governor of Assam.

The suspension comes after the CBI raided his residences at Ranchi and Bokaro on August 3 and slapped a disproportionate assets case against him.
