Chandigarh: With Assembly elections in Haryana scheduled for October 13, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Wednesday released its manifesto and promised sops to every section of the society which included a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 to unemployed graduates.

The manifesto was released at a press conference here by INLD general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Chautala and party's state unit president Ashok Arora.

The manifesto aims to bring back the era of party founder and former deputy prime minister Devi Lal and has a punchline of 'Apna Vaada, Kaam Ka Irada' (our promise is to deliver).

Wooing the youth, he said if INLD came to power it would ensure 50 per cent reservation for them in private sector and provide a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 to all unemployed graduates.

"Every student in Haryana shall receive free education upto graduation in any stream," he said promising to set up a university in the backward Ahirwal region of the state.

Chautala said the party would rekindle the people-friendly policies of late Devi Lal, and would wave-off loans upto Rs 1 lakh for farmers, labourers, backward classes, small traders, service class and other professionals.

Terming the recent announcement of bonus of Rs 100 per quintal wheat by the Centre as a "cruel joke", Chautala said if his party comes to power it would give Rs 1,400 per quintal MSP to the farmers for wheat with the difference being borne by the state government.

It also promised special package for women to spread literacy among them.

"To let girls in Haryana continue their studies after class XII, they shall be provided free two-wheelers while every female employee in the state government services shall be paid one month's extra salary in a year," he said.

Wooing the Punjabi community, he promised it will be given the second language status in the state.

INLD, which has often charged the Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Congress government in the state in not fully implementing the Sixth Pay Commission report, said the party will implement the entire recommendations of the Commission to benefit the working class in Haryana.

The age limit for entering the government jobs would be enhanced to 45 years, Chautala said.

"Every family in Haryana shall get a free LPG connection, the BPL families shall receive free supply of 25 kg grains every month," the INLD leader said while announcing other sops.

The party also promised to provide old age pension of Rs 700 to every eligible beneficiary.

He promised free pilgrimage to 1.25 lakh people of Haryana wishing to travel to Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, Katasaraj Mandir and said expenses of Haj pilgrims, other than being borne by the Central government, would be taken care by the state government.

The business and trading community in Haryana depositing VAT would get a five per cent incentive, he said.

He also vowed to waive off tax on supply of drinking water.

The INLD has also promised 25 kilogram grains per month to all the poor.

Besides, all the lands of the farmers would be restored to their "rightful owners", Chautala said.

The INLD would also extend the loan limit to Rs 3 lakh from the existing Rs 1 lakh for the cooperative societies and the rate of interest will be 2 per cent.

Water treatment plants will be installed in all the villages to provide safe drinking water, he said.

Chautala also said students' union elections will be held in all the colleges and universities if they come to power.

Announcing more sops for women, he said that 33 per cent reservation will be provided to them in government jobs.

Wooing the media community, Chautala said press clubs will be constructed at all the district headquarters in the state and a policy which will take care of housing needs of the journalists will also be framed.
