Hyderabad: Loksatta Party would participate
in a sit-in in New Delhi tomorrow organised by Rashtriya
Swabhiman Andolan (RSA) to press for the demand of devolving 7
per cent direct revenue on village panchayats.
Lok Satta Party President Dr Jayaprakash Narayan would
also take part in the sit-in to be held at Jantarmantar in
national capital, a party release said today.
If the demand is conceded, panchayats all over the
country will receive funds upto Rs 70,000 crore annually, it
said.
RSA convenor Govindacharya, representatives of other
organisations all over the country fighting for
decentralisation of powers and resources to local governments
besides Lok Satta Party's Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh unit
would also take part in the agitation.
