Cuttack (Orissa), Aug 17: A minor staying at an orphanage in Cuttack has alleged that she was raped by one of its employees.

According to police, the 15-year-old orphanage inmate was spotted loitering near a railway track at Kandarpur by a lady teacher on Friday evening who took her to Chauliaganj police station.

On subsequent query, the girl, who was staying in the orphanage since February this year, said she had been repeatedly raped by a gate-keeper of the shelter home, inspector-in-charge S K Mohapatra said, adding that on the basis of the complaint the gate-keeper was arrested. Both the girl and the accused would undergo a medical test tomorrow, he said.

Meanwhile, the orphanage authorities have rebutted the allegations saying that the girl was deranged.
