Ranchi: It was a mixed fortune for family members of politicians who contested the Jharkhand Assembly polls.

JMM chief Shibu Soren's younger son Hemant won from Dumka defeating former deputy chief minister Stephen Marandi.

Another family member of the JMM supremo--daughter-in-law Sita, widow of Durga Soren--won the election from Jama.

Sushila Hansda, sitting JMM MLA from Litipara, did not contest this time, but her husband Simon Marandi contested on JMM ticket and won.

Former chief minister Madhu Koda, an MP, allegedly involved in the Rs 2000 crore money laundering scam did not contest the polls, but his wife Geeta romped home from Jagannathpur.

Former Jharkhand Assembly Speaker and MP Inder Singh Namdhari, did not contest but fielded his son Dilip in Daltonganj but he lost.

Former deputy chief minister and senior JMM leader Sudhir Mahto, who lost the Ichagarh seat this time is the brother of late Nirmal Mahto, a founder member of the JMM.

Amit Yadav, the son of late BJP MLA Chittaranjan Yadav, contested and won the Barkata seat after he was given ticket by the saffron party.
