Kolkata, Aug 06: Expressing concern over the fresh outbreak of violence at Nandigram where a local party secretary was shot dead today, the CPI-M alleged the Trinamool Congress and Maoists had colluded to unleash terror in a new form there.

Accusing Trinamool Congress and Maoists of launching attacks against CPI-M leaders at Nandigram where anti-SEZ protesters have locked horns with Left activists, CPI-M state secretary Biman Bose, in a statement here, called upon the people of the state to resist attempts to create chaos.

He said to damage the Left movement, Trinamool Congress and Maoists operating in Nandigram "were resorting to the politics of killing of individuals".

This was being done to divert the attention of the people at a time when the Left Front has been undertaking campaign against various policies of the UPA government, he said.

Trouble erupted again in Nandigram today when a CPI-M local committee secretary was shot dead during an exchange of fire between Trinamool Congress and CPI-M activists at Rajaramchak village near here.

Eastern Frontier Rifles jawans rushed to the spot with police and used lathis to disperse the warring groups, the police said.
