Warangal: A State Committee member of the CPI (Maoist) was killed in an encounter with police in Warangal district on Friday.
Kondal Reddy alias Tech Ramana was killed in the encounter at the forest area in Tadwai Mandal of the district early today, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached Bandala forest area early in the morning and started a combing operation.
On seeing the police, the Naxalites hurled bombs which were retaliated, resulting in the death of one Naxalite, while three others managed to escape.
Later, the police identified the deceased as Kondal Reddy. Police seized a AK-47 from the spot.
