New Delhi: The Delhi Police is planning to install a state-of-the-art communication system at its control rooms, including the one at its headquarters, in order to enhance its operational capabilities manifold.
Initially, the department will procure 16 Integrated Voice and Data Communication and Recording Systems (IVDCRS) to be installed at 11 district control rooms and six other units including Security Wing, Armed Police and Central PCR.
These systems will also be installed at the FRRO Office in R K Puram and Traffic Command and Control Centre in Malaviya Nagar.
"Once operationalised, this system will help us in enhancing our communication abilities which will result in better operational capabilities.
"The new system will be designed with a long-term vision using contemporary technologies in telecommunication field," a senior police official said adding it will integrate different modes of communication used by Delhi Police.
