Rajgir: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday described the reported "anti-Bihari" remarks of his Delhi counterpart Sheila Dixit as "irresponsible" and said it reflected her "narrow-mindedness."

"Sheila Dixit's statement holding Biharis responsible for ills plaguing Delhi is an irresponsible act... we condemn it", Kumar told reporters.

"Delhi is the nation's pride and it is not not the pocket borough of somebody. ... All citizens of the country have full right on Delhi", he said.

Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi also criticised Dixit's remark and said it was not expected from a leader like her.

"Her statement was against the country's unity and integrity, besides constitutional prestige", he alleged. "If you think I have planned a holiday trip, you are mistaken. As usual, it will be the same work schedule for me," Kumar told newsmen.

He directed the officials to evolve a system to divert hot water from the old spring to the new one.

A hectic schedule lies ahead of the chief minister in the next five days. Official sources said that besides the cabinet meeting at convention centre of the Shanti Stupa atop the Gridhakuta Hills, Kumar would review all the development works initiated by different departments.

"The Chief Minister has fixed two hours, between 4 pm to 6 pm everyday, to meet people and hear their grievances. It's not going to be Janata Darbar, but he will hear their grievances as well", the official said.

The Chief Minister would launch the excavation work of ancient university of Nalanda University at Telhara and lay the foundation stone of convention centre to be built at a cost of Rs 33 crore.

Nitish is also expected to lay the foundation stone of the police academy. The new projects to build roads on all the five hills, is also likely to be taken up during his stay, sources in the Nalanda district administration said.

While I do not support the narrow regional views of various political leaders and support that people of India have right to work and live any where in the country, I do wish to put a question to the Bihar politicians. The question is why a Bihari mostly does not want to live in Bihar and migrate to other parts of the country? This question is not restricted to Nitish Kumar only. It is addressed to Laloo, Sharad Yadav and paswan too. If the successive goverments had built proper infrastructures and job opprtunities in Bihar why would there be migration of Biharis to Bengal, Punjab, Maharashtra, Himachal and many other places out side Bihar? Let the politicians of Bihar give it a serious thought instead of blaming Shiela Dixit, MP govt or Shiv Sena.
