Bellary: An acute shortage of medicines to
treat chikungunya and dengue has been reported at Vijayanagara
Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) in Bellary district.
Sources at VIMS, speaking on condition of anonymity,
said at least 14 dengue cases from Sindhanoor in Raichur
district have been referred to VIMS, but there are no
medicines to treat them.
Two dengue cases have also been reported from Bellary,
VIMS sources said, adding that the condition of four children
is stated to be serious.
District Administration and district Health authorities
too have admitted there is lack of medicines.
