Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government today said that the entry of raw sugar into the state will not be allowed till all the cane is crushed.

"In the larger interest of the farmers the government has decided that import of raw sugar in the state will not be allowed till the time cane crushing is being done," Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati said in a statement issued here.

Moinuddin -
Alternate sugar mill should be built up under PPP model to curb the blackmailing of any concerned. None can believe that sugar price hike from Rs.17/- to Rs.50/- i.e. almost 300% for want of sufficient stock. The mater of fact is that blackmarketers and hoarder and also some vested interested political leaders are supposed to be responsible for artificial crisis. If adminstration would be strong enough then these lobbies would be in jail and punnished. That type of crisis was broken out in the then East Pakistanin early sixties. For which Genl Ayub Khan had lunch cumbing operation against the hoarders and resulted price of all commodities were come down suitably. Indian people should know the fact and treat against such persons constitutionaly. If failed, future India will not tolerate more!
