No relief from scorching heat for Delhiites

New Delhi: Residents continued to reel under high humidity and scorching heat in the national capital today with light rains in some parts of the city providing little relief.

The maximum temperature settled three degrees above normal at 37.5 degree Celsius, while the minimum for the day was 26.2 degrees, a notch below normal, the Met office said.

The maximum humidity level jumped up to as high as 92 per cent from yesterday's 72 per cent.

The minimum humidity level was 48 per cent. Yesterday, it was 52 per cent.

The weathermen said 2.6 mm rains were recorded in some parts of the capital till 8.30 am.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was around 37.5 degree Celsius.

Met officials predicted partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery developments in some areas tomorrow.

They said while the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 37 degrees, the minimum will be around 28 degree Celsius.
