Bhopal: The Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC) will lay siege to the Parliament in the second week of March to press for the formation of a National Youth Commission and Youth Development Corporation for welfare of young people.
"We are going to 'gherao' Parliament in the second week of March to press for the formation of the Youth Commission and the Development Corporation," Nationalist Youth Congress President Rajeev Kumar Jha today told reporters here. NYC, the youth body of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has also asked its state units to work for the
establishment of Youth Commissions and Youth Development Corporations at state level, he said.
Jha said that there was a dire need for the setting up National Youth Commission to formulate policies for overall development of youths across the country, and YDC to finance developmental activities for them.
He said that India was having the largest number of youth in the world, adding that there was a need to improve their financial condition and help them to sharpen their skills to compete globally.
The manpower requirement of the international market provides unmatched opportunity to skilled youths, Jha said.
