Gangtok: Apparently inconvenienced by the general public knocking his doors directly for redressal of their problems, Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling today asked the aggrieved people to seek his audience only if their issue was not settled by the appropriate authority.

"Anybody seeking a meeting with the Chief Minister for redressal of his problems must get a recommendation by the local MLA that the problem is not disposable by the administration from panchayat to district level and even ministers," an official release said here today.

The people having followed the procedure may send SMS to the chief minister or contact him on his cell phone, it said.

The new arrangement has been made due to his tight work schedule, it said.
