New Delhi: Congress on Friday said the Supreme
Court direction to Uttar Pradesh on stoppage of all further
construction activities at the Kanshi Ram Memorial Sthal in
Lucknow showed the lopsided priorities of Mayawati government.
"This showed how lopsided are the priorities of the
Mayawati government as it has allocated Rs 3.25 crore each to
Poorvanchal and Bundelkhand regions, Rs 200 crore for drought
and Rs 545 crore for erecting statues," Congress spokesman
Manish Tewari told reporters here.
The Supreme Court has questioned the "reasonableness" of
the UP government in making the allocation, he said.
Tewari said those who violate the Supreme Court directives
should be prepared to face the consequences.
