Imphal: Two unidentified militants were
killed in an encounter with combined forces of Thoubal police
commandos and 42nd Assam Rifles personnel in Thoubal district,
official sources said on Sunday.
Security personnel were patrolling Raichin Khuman area
last night, when militants attacked them. In the ensuing
exchange of firing, two militants were killed on the spot.
Police said, one AK-56 rifle, two 9 mm pistol and two
hand grenade were recovered from the spot.
Bodies were sent to the Regional Institute of Medical
Sciences Hospital for post mortem.
