Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh would appoint social audit coordinators to bring transparency in implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme
(MNREGS).
"For social audit of MNREGS in UP and for effective implementation of the scheme, social audit coordinators will be appointed at state level by the government," officials said here Tuesday.
An order to this effect has already been issued by the rural development department, they added.
As per the order issued by principal secretary rural development Shri Krishna, a committed headed by agriculture production commissioner will be constituted for selection of the coordinators.
The social audit coordinators will be selected through interviews. They will be a nominated member of the state council and get a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 along with an additional Rs 5,000 for other allowances.
