Burdwan: A member of a village resistance group was shot dead by unknown gunmen Friday at Mongalkote in Burdwan district.
"Nantu Seikh (32) was shot and seriously injured when he was returning home after duty early this morning at Jhilu village," SDPO Katwa Jyotirmoy Roy said.
He was shot in the abdomen and died on the way to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, Roy said.
