Chennai: Seventyfive per cent of booth slips
for the April 13 Assembly elections have been distributed in
the city so far, District Election Officer D Karthikeyan said
Saturday.
"For the 16 Assembly constituencies in Chennai district,
75 per cent voters have been covered so far..", Karthikeyan,
also the Chennai Corporation Commissioner, said at a function
here.
He advised voters who were yet to receive their booth slips
could obtain it from their respective polling booths tomorrow.
Stating that there were 3,236 polling booths in the 16
Assembly constituencies, he said 1,510 had been identified to
be "sensitive".
Among them, the 675 polling booths would be monitored by
Election Commission directly through web cameras, while 495
polling booths would be recorded through video cameras.
The remaining 340 would be monitored by micro-observers, he
said.
