121 safe shelters built in TN

A total of 121 safe shelters have been constructed across Tamil Nadu for accommodating people at times of natural calamities, the Assembly was informed on Tuesday.

Chennai: A total of 121 safe shelters have been constructed across Tamil Nadu for accommodating people at times of natural calamities, the Assembly was informed on Tuesday.
While replying to a query during the question hour, Revenue Minister R B Udhaya Kumar said a total of 121 safe shelters have been constructed across the state and 14 of them were located in Thanjavur district.
The Minister was responding to M Rethinasamy (Thiruvaiyaru), who sought to know whether the government would come forward to construct safe shelters for the people affected by natural calamities in Thiruvaiyaru.
