14 huts gutted in Erode

Erode: Fourteen thatched huts were gutted and
three partially burnt in a fire this morning at Surumapatty
area here, but no casualties were reported, police said.

The inmates, all labourers, had left for work when the
fire broke out and spread suddenly, fanned by a stiff breeze,
they said.

Three huts were partially burnt.

Fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the flames
