New Delhi: Taking its probe into the 2G spectrum scam further, the Enforcement Directorate, Tuesday, issued summons to DMK MP Kanimozhi and four others named by the CBI in the supplementary chargesheet filed in the case.

Besides Kanimozhi, who is the daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, the others co-accused who have been summoned by the ED are Sharad Kumar of Kalaignar TV, Karim Morani of Cineyug Films, and Asif Balwa and Rajiv B Agarwal of Kusegaon Realty.

All of them would be questioned on the basis of the suspicion that they have indulged in laundering 2G spectrum allocation kickbacks through DMK promoted Kalaingar TV.

Kanimozhi, her step mother Dayalu Ammal and Sharad Kumar reportedly hold 20, 60 and 20% shares in Kalaignar TV respectively.

Earlier, the CBI had first named as accused former telecom minister A Raja, his personal aide RK Chandolia, former telecom secretary Siddhartha Behura and Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa.

Later, five more corporate executives were added to the list as co-accused - Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom, Sanjay Chandra of Unitech and Gautam Doshi, Hari Nair and Surendra Pipara of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. All nine are in judicial custody.

The CBI has alleged that Kalaignar TV started refunding Rs 200 crores illegal gratification back to the companies promoted by various accused including Shahid Usman Balwa only after Raja was quizzed by it on December 24 last year.

In future we must do away with coalition government in which different parties, from tiny to big, try to armtwist the leading party to extract ``lucrative`` portfolios for public loot and launder the illgotten money got by misusing office. This is possible if we do away with multiparty method for our democracy since this is unwarranted for our huge country with innumerable burning issues and their solution cannot inordinate delays and vetoes due to the multiplicity of parties, none of which is interested in convergence of views for nation`s growth, but only in filibuster politics. Scams can still happen even with single party democracy, but comparatively their occurrence can be redced to the minimum by suitable mechanisms such as effectively autonomous institutions which must be charged with the task of keeping checks and balances.

Why is the delay in arresting Kanimozhi? She is equal partner, subsequently she got most of the share in the 2G scam. She is purposely given time to manuplate the records. The Congress govt. is waiting for Tamil Nadu elections to end. Because if she is arrested during the election or before results it may effect the allaince. Most of the scam money went to Karunas family. All the members should be arrested immediately and the family should be debarred for contesting the election for 20 years. What the Lok Bill can do,it is the people who will enforce it, if it is pssed?

There is already a feeling that the ED is peddling soft on this issue due to political pressure

The real issue is India holding a leading position as a money laundering nation in the world. What do these politicians say - do they say they make no `contributions` to secure such a `position` for India ?? And if 2G allocation was not such a tantalising source for politicians to make money unlawfully, what else would be ? Why would CAG, PAC, CVC come up with losses, which is a euphemism to include this unlawful acquisition of money misusing political power and office. In short, our democracy is a total sham, the main cause for which is politicians whose corruption breeds that in administration, sports, business, etc.

The people are fade up with drama of 2G scandal. It is well known fact that all money are looted by DMK & Conggress leaders. But real culprits are still at large.PM & his cabinet is solely responsible for this loot as reported in PAC reports which is pending with speaker who is waiting for orders of Madam Sonia who is real player of all scams happening in India. All are well protected by Manmohan govt. The people of country should act in decisive manner by ousting Congress from power who is main promoter of corruption in India.
