Chennai: About 100 advocates on Monday petitioned
the Press Council of India, seeking an inquiry and action
against the Editor and Publisher of Tamil bi-weekly magazine
`Nakkheeran` for its article on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Jayalalithaa.

The advocates contended that the article was "definitely
inflammatory and against the spirit and language to be
followed by any law abiding print media".

They claimed the January 7 article "is a totally
fictionalised account and has tarnished her image".
They said it is totally unacceptable to circulate
"unfounded news, with a view to tarnishing one`s image and
alleged that the magazine continuously published such `false,
unverified rumours" and sought action against it.
