Chennai: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi is not keeping well.

Notably, his political rival and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has also been undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital here, where she is admitted since September 22.

The DMK has issued a press release which said Karunanidhi has developed an allergy due to some medicines he takes on a regular basis, reported India Today.

The release added that the DMK chief is taking rest and visitors are requested not to disturb him.

Meanwhile, special prayers are being offered across Tamil Nadu for the speedy recovery of Jayalalithaa.

The 68-year-old ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam​ (AIADMK) general secretary, who was born at Melkote near Mysuru, is an ardent devotee of Chamundeshwari, an avatar of goddess Durga.
