Madurai: AIADMK MLA Thangatamizhselvam and 45 others today appeared before the Andipatti Judicial Magistrate court in Theni district, after the Magistrate issued arrest warrant against them in connection with a clash between two groups of AIADMK workers during the party union president elections in 2006.
Since the case was filed in 2006 several summons were issued to 51 accused in the case against whom cases were registered.
However, they did not appear in the court in the last eight years forcing the Magistrate to issue arrest warrant against them on Tuesday.
They were asked to be present in the court today.
The MLA and others, who appeared before the Magistrate sought to cancel the warrant issued against them.
The Magistrate Saravanan agreed to their plea and cancelled the arrest warrant and posted the case for hearing on November 25.
Five persons, who were accused in the case, died during the pendency of the case.
