Coimbatore: Police along with Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and sniffer dog were on their toes till the wee hours, following a bomb scare at a multispeciality hospital in the city past midnight yesterday.
The hospital received an anonymous call around 3 AM stating that a bomb planted there would explode in a few minutes, police said.
On infromation from the management, the police along with the bomb and dog squads reached there and evacuated the in patients with minor ailments from the rooms and kept them in an open ground attached to the hospital.
After carrying out detailed search room-by-room, no explosive was found, proving the call to be a hoax, police said.
Efforts were on to trace the call, they said.
