Child care leave for Rly women staff demanded

Madurai: The Southern Railway Mazdoor Union`s
women`s wing has demanded that the Railways provide Child care
leave to women staff without any preconditions.

A meeting of the wing held here demanded that women staff
who visited other cities on duty be provided lodging in the
respective destinations. They also sought separate toilets and
rest room facilities.

Widows recruited on compassionate grounds should be
provided family Planning allowance if their husbands availed
the same while they were working, a union press release said.

The union also wanted reduction in duty hours and a five
day week.
