Nagercoil: A college chairman has been arrested for allegedly raping an 18-year-old student of his institution here, police said.
Ashok Kumar (59), chairman of a private paramedical college, was arrested yesterday for allegedly raping the victim, a student of nursing, twice on Aug 11, police said.
According to a police complaint lodged by the victim, Kumar took her to the deserted boys hostel in the afternoon of Aug 11 and raped her. He raped her again the same day at around 9.30 pm near the girls hostel, it said.
Police said preliminary investigation suggested the victim may have been molested over a period of time and that they were probing the angle.
