Salem: A police constable suffered head injuries on Monday after he was assaulted by two persons when he tried to question them, police said.
The 51-year-old Kamaraj had started questioning three persons who were standing near jewellery shop near here in the wee hours when one of them ran away.
When Kamaraj raised an alarm, the other two beat him with an iron rod.
Kamaraj has been admitted to hospital, police said.
