Coimbatore: A notorious criminal wanted in connection with more than 10 cases, including three murders, was arrested on gun point from a house in the early hours of Tuesday and arms and weapons seized from his possession.
Based on information, Mohanram, a native of Dindigul and said to be close lieutanant of Madras Pandi, who was shot dead in an encounter near Chennai some time ago, was hiding in a house in Maniyakarampalaym near here, a team of police, drawn from Coimbatore, Tirupur and Dindigul district, surrounded him, police said.
Mohanram, who was attempting to escape by breaking the cordon, was nabbed on gun pointed, they said, adding, three revolvers, some knives and sickles were recovered from his house, police said.
Mohanram, who was taken to Dindigul, was wanted in more than 10 cases, including three murders in Dindigul, abduction and explosion cases in Madurai, Tirupur and Tiruvettiyur near Chennai, police said.
