A dacoity gang robbed two employees of a cardomom company of Rs 20 lakh cash after sprinkling chilli powder on their face at Theetha Thotti Near Bodinayakanur last night.

Madurai: A dacoity gang robbed two employees
of a cardomom company of Rs 20 lakh cash after sprinkling
chilli powder on their face at Theetha Thotti Near
Bodinayakanur last night, police said on Thursday.

Manager of the company and another official had drawn
the money from a private bank and were travelling by a car to
Bodi when the three-member gang struck, police said.

The motorbike-borne gang, intercepted the car and
threatened the car driver with knife. Then they sprinkled
chilli powder on their face, and robbed the occupants of their
cash.

The gang abandoned the two-wheeler a few miles away from
the spot and escaped in some other vehicle.

This was the second robbery in the area in the last one
week. No one had been arrested in connection with the last
week`s robbery also.

District SP Praveen Kumar Abhinu visited the spot.
