Dance teacher held for running job racket

A 42-year-old woman has been detained for allegedly running a job racket worth several crores and cheating many all over Tamil Nadu, police said.

Karaikudi: A 42-year-old woman has been
detained for allegedly running a job racket worth several
crores and cheating many all over Tamil Nadu, police said.

Bhuvaneswari, a dance teacher who hails from Tanjore, was
running a dance school in Chennai and had developed contacts
with various VIPs, police said.

Claiming influence within political circles, she had
collected money ranging from Rs two lakh to Rs 16 lakh for
securing the contributors government jobs, they said.

Bhuvaneswari was detained yesterday on the complaint of
Balamurugan of Tuticorin, who filed a complaint in Chennai,
where she was running her dancer school before relocating to
Karaikudi about 10 months ago, police said.

Balamurugan complained that she had cheated him of several
lakhs of rupees, they added.

Further interrogation revealed that she had cheated many
persons across the state, police said.

She was taken to Chennai for further interrogation last
night and production before the judicial magistrate.
