Chennai: DMK on Wednesday announced a solatium of Rs
one lakh each to the families of those killed in the police
firing at Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district on Sunday.
Besides, a team headed by DMK leader and party Treasurer
M K Stalin would leave to Paramakudi tomorrow to meet the
families of the victims and those injured, a party release
said.
Seven persons were killed in the police firing when a mob
of Dalits turned violent, setting ablaze police vehicles and
blocked traffic following the arrest of their leader, John
Pandian at Vallanadu in Tuticorin district.
