Chennai: DMK on Saturday petitioned the Election
Commission alleging that ruling AIADMK was indulging in
distribution of money in the bypoll-bound Sankaranakoil (SC)
Assembly constituency in Tirunelveli District.

In telegrams sent to Chief Election Commissioner SY
Qureishi and state Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar, DMK
MP S Thangavelu and party advocate KS Radhakrishnan alleged
Ministers camping in the district were distributing money to
the voters, in some places with the help of police.

"Police don`t check AIADMK vehicles while we are being
subjected to checks in violation of laws," they said.

Seeking the EC`s interevention in preventing distribution
of money, they said it should take all efforts to ensure fair
