Chennai: An associate of DMK strongman and
former Minister Veerapandi S Arumugam has been arrested on
charges of fraud, police said on Saturday.
Kaushik Boopathy was picked up following a complaint from
one Muthu, who had alleged that the accused had sold land
jointly owned by the two besides another person near Chennai
to his relatives and others but had not given his due share of
money.
Boopathy had sold 40.38 acres of land, valued at around Rs
10 crore, Muthu alleged, a City police release here said,
adding, he was arrested on Friday and remanded to custody for
15 days.
Arumugam, a DMK strongman from Salem, was arrested last
year on landgrab charges.
