New Delhi: A delegation of DMK MPs met President Pratibha Patil on Tuesday to complain about what they term as excesses being committed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Dayanidhi Maran and TR Baalu met the President in the afternoon and complained the Jayalalithaa government was involved in a political vendetta against the DMK leadership. They also submitted a memorandum detailing alleged excesses by the Jayalalithaa government against the party.

The AIADMK government, after it came to power, has arrested three ministers of the previous DMK regime in the continuing crackdown on land grabbing.

More shockingly for the DMK, the state government has now trained its guns on DMK chief M Karunanidhi of encroaching land behind his Gopalpuram residence in Chennai and said legal action will be taken against him in this regard.

A permanent 780-square-foot structure housing rest rooms for security guards was constructed on the piece of land which was allotted to Karunanidhi in 1967 by way of a Corporation resolution for Rs 3,250, local administration minister K P Munusamy said.
