Coimbatore: DMK leader MK Stalin Thursday said if the party is voted to power, it would provide a corruption-free governance in Tamil Nadu.

Addressing people during his 'walk' from Mettupalayam, some 40 Kms from here to Kaundenpalayam in the city, Stalin alleged that the ruling AIADMK had failed in all fronts and the people were not happy with the government.

Stating that the previous 2006-2011 DMK government has provided a clean government and solved the problems of the people, he said that if given a chance in 2016 assembly polls, the party will ensure a "corruption, commission and collection free government."

"The government will be a people's government", he said.

During his padayatra, as part of his second leg of Namukke Naame (We for Ourselves) pre-election campaign, Stalin received petitions and memorandums from Physically Challenged Welfare Association, areca, curry leaves and banana growers in Karamadai area and assured to redress their grievances, once voted back to power.

Stalin also interacted with handloom weavers, construction workers, dyers and glass manufacturers and also with software engineers in Saravanampatti.

Stalin paid floral tributes to the memorial of Farmers Association president Narayanasamy at Vaiyampalayam on the way to Koundampalayam.

Some farmers complained that the ground water has gone down and there was no water for irrigation and they were not not getting remunerative prices for their produces.
