Chennai: Chief Election Commissioner Navin B
Chawla, along with Election Commissioners S Y Qureshi
and V S Sampath, will review the groundwork for next year`s
Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu at a meeting with top
officials here on July 6, a top official said here today.
They will hold the review meeting with District Election
Officers and senior police officers on "subjects related to
elections," Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta told
"They will be reviewing the health of electoral
rolls, coverage of electors with EPIC (Electors Photo Identity
Cards) and images in electoral rolls, polling stations
re-organisation and certain other subjects related to
elections," Gupta said.
Prior to the review meeting, Chawla will inaugurate a
photo exhibition detailing the process of conduct of

Sudarssanam, he said since general elections were only a few
months away, by-poll was not required.
Asked if there would be early elections in the state, he
said "I have no idea."
The term of the assembly will end in May 2011.
