Vellore: A huge cache of explosive
materials and detonators were seized from a house in Chinnapalapakkam village near here and one person arrested in this connection, police said Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, police last night recovered 400 detonators and 350 kg of ammonium nitrate, used for making
explosives, from the house of one Jaganathan, a farmer in
Chinnapalapakkam.
Jaganathan managed to flee shortly before the police arrived, while his 30-year-old son was arrested and is currently being interrogated, officials said.
Police raided the house after an anonymous caller told
them that detonators were stored by Jaganathan.
