Chennai: Two separate incidents of fire
created a flutter at the airport here on Friday.

A parked car that is used to ferry airline staff suddenly
went up in flames, triggering panic.

However, Fire and Rescue Services personnel extinguished
the flames before it consumed the entire vehicle, airport
sources said.

An over-heated battery is suspected to have caused the
fire.

In the other incident, a neon name-board of a private
hotel near the international terminal caught fire due to a
suspected short circuit.
