Tuticorin: A fire at a private coal thermal power plant inside the SIPCOT complex here damaged one of the two transformers but did not affect generation, officials said.
The transformer of the first unit caught fire late last night, they said, adding that fire service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
