Fishermen`s strike enters 4th day

Over 2,000 fishermen did not put out to sea for the fourth consecutive day on saturday, demanding release of the five fishermen taken into custody by Sri Lankan Navy.

The fishermen also want Lankan naval officials to drop
the drug smuggling charges slapped against the men held four
days back, fisheries department officials said.

The officials said talks were on with their Sri Lankan
counterparts to secure the release of the five fishermen.
