Rameswaram (TN)): Four fishermen released by
a court in Sri Lanka after their arrest by the island nation`s
navy on January 5 were brought back to this coastal town on Monday
by the Indian Coast Guard.
"The Sri Lankan naval personnel handed over the fishermen
to Coast Guard officials, who brought them back," fisheries
department director A Veeran said.
They were released by a court in Mannar where they were
taken after their arrest for fishing near Katchathivu.
Another four fishermen, arrested on January 2 would be
released tomorrow, he said.
The released fishermen said they were treated well in Sri
Lanka.
