Chennai: In a disturbing video, a child, said to be four-year-old, is seen being forced to drink alcohol.

The video, which has gone viral on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp, shows a group of men pushing the child to join them in drinking beer.

Taking a strong action in the case, the Tamil Nadu Police has arrested two of the men and charged them with attempted murder. The police are on the lookout for three other men featured in the one-and-a-half minute video.

The incident took place near a lake at Mel Cholankuppam village of Tiruvannamalai district, 200 km from Chennai, on June 30.

The boy, who belonged to Sozhankupam village in Thrivuvannamalai district, was taken to the lake by his maternal uncle Murugan and his friend Manikandan. Later, three men joined them for a drinking session.

The men can be viewed pouring liquor from a bottle into a cup and forcing the child drink it and eat peanuts kept in a plastic bag.

They laugh into the camera and keep pushing the child to imitate their actions. When the innocent boy mimics them, the men burst out laughing.

The boy is then seen throwing away the plastic cup, coughing and drinking water from a bottle.
