Husband of Jaya`s aide moves HC for pre-arrest bail

M Natarajan, husband of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa`s close aide Sasikala, and his brother on Wednesday moved Madras High Court Bench here seeking anticipatory bail, apprehending arrest in connection with alleged violation of police orders during their participation in the inauguration of a memorial for Eelam martyrs.

Madurai: M Natarajan, husband of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa`s close aide Sasikala, and his brother on Wednesday moved Madras High Court Bench here seeking anticipatory bail, apprehending arrest in connection with alleged violation of police orders during their participation in the inauguration of a memorial for Eelam martyrs. Natarajan and his brother M Swaminathan have been booked under the Public Nuisance Act and IPC for violating Police orders while participating in the Mullivaaikal memorial inauguration conference from November 8 to 10. The memorial built in Thanjavur for Tamil martyrs of the war in Sri Lanka was inaugurated last week. Natarajan submitted that he was among those named accused in the case for allegedly violating the 10 PM deadline stipulated by police for use of loudspeakers. He said he was only the chief guest at the function and not connected in anyway with the trust or the function organising committee.
Swaminathan said he had gone to the function only as a spectator, and he was innocent.
