I-T raids in leading supermarket in Chennai

Chennai: The Income Tax department on Thursday
conducted raids in the branches of a leading supermarket in
the city.

The investigation wing of the department commenced the
raids around 8 am in all seven branches of the city-based
supermarket, which sells textile, home appliances and
furniture, I-T sources said.

Six branches of the supermarket are located in the
crowded commercial hub of T Nagar locality and one is situated
in Purasawalkam. All branches were closed as soon as the I-T
officials began the raids.
