Salem: The superintendent of a sub jail at nearby Sankari was found dead in room in a lodge near the jail, police said.
They said the lodge owners alerted police after the cleaner got no answer to repeated knocks on the door of his room at around 8 AM. Police broke open the door and found him dead.
The 53-year-old man had been transferred last month from Salem central prison to the sub jail in Sankari.
