New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa Monday expressed her dismay at the process of finalising the annual plan allocation for her state by the Planning Commission.

Speaking here after meeting Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of the Planning Commission, she said: "We have asked for special assistance, additional assistance under various heads but that was not forthcoming.

"So what this entire exercise amounts to is that we have come all the way to Delhi to have discussions and meetings with the Planning Commission so that they can tell us how to spend our own money," she told reporters.

She said the annual outlay for Tamil Nadu for 2012-13 has been fixed at Rs.28,000 crore, which is 19 percent increase over last year's outlay.

According to her, of the Rs.28,000 crore only Rs.3,000 crore was from the central government and the balance was Tamil Nadu's own money.
